Google launches an AI cart across several shops
Google has launched the “Universal Cart”, a shopping cart in Google Search and the Gemini app that collects products from several shops. The launch is first for the United States.
What the cart can do
Products from several shops sit in one place instead of many browser tabs.
It shows price drops and tells you when sold-out items are back.
It finds relevant promo codes and suggests the best way to pay.
You pay through Google Pay or directly in the retailer's shop.
What does this mean for your company?
The post only mentions the launch in the United States. For retailers, part of the decision where to buy may in future be made in Google's cart and not only on your own website. It is worth watching the development and keeping your product data and prices clean.
